Stephen Ministers are congregation members trained by Stephen Leaders to offer high-quality, one-to-one Christian care to people going through tough times. A Stephen Minister usually provides care to one person at a time, meeting with that person once a week for about an hour. Twice a month, Stephen Ministers gather with their Stephen Leaders for supervision and continuing education.
Dorcus Prayer Shawl Ministry
A team of Needlers creates and prays over beautiful prayer shawls. Deliverers then take the shawls to those in need of healing and pray with them. It is a wonderful way to wrap others in love and prayer during a time of need.
The Golden Caregivers look to care specifically for the elderly, shut-ins and partners who are in local long-term care facilities. They regularly provide visits, treats, and luncheons for seniors.
Through email, we pray for the laments and thanksgivings of the community. A written copy of prayers is also provided for those who do not have access to email.
Having a new member of the family is an exciting time! We hope to bless families that are having a baby, adopting or fostering by arranging for a few meals from our Pilgrim Partners.
Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday, 8 a.m. to Noon
The Care Team’s mission is to oversee home communion visits, prayer ministries, bereavement ministries, welcoming new members, small group ministry, and congregational playfulness. For more information about CARE Team or any of its components please contact Amanda Burke at email@example.com.
SALT Families (Sharing and Living Together Families) are small groups of people that gather together to grow in discipleship. These families meet regularly to share and support one another, read God’s word, talk about life, pray together, bless one another, and grow in discipleship UP, IN and OUT. Meeting times and locations vary. Come do “Familying” with us!
Playfulness is an important part of a healthy community! The PLAY team works to plan opportunities for the congregation to gather and build relationships. From Game Nights to Campfire and Carols we strive to play together as the Body of Christ.
At Pilgrim when we gather around the communion table, we say “All are Welcome” and “All Means All”. That extends to those that are not able to travel outside their home. The Eucharistic Ministers go regularly to deliver and celebrate Holy Communion with our homebound partners.
LOSS & LOVE
As a community, we hope to support families in their grief. Our bereavement team provides meals or refreshments to families in conjunction with funeral or memorial services held at Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
